I worked as a chef for this casino called Awkasasne mohawk casino resort NewYork. It happened late at night and i was rushing to meet my prep quota. I made one fully committed chop on my middle finger. Severly severing the tip of the finger. I was rushed to er for surgery. It was 2 weeks later after returning to work and i still wasnt able to fully use my hand. All the fingers surrounding my injury became stiff from lack of being able to bend. My lovely coworkers helped me out with necessary lifting and when my supervisor came in and seen that i was getting helped; she flipped and tried using her power to force me to use my injured hand to lift a 15lb pan of dried out food. I straight out refused and left the kitchen to find a security guard. Said security guard contacted my boss and they tried to downplay my injury as a simple laceration. I still had stitches mind you. After 5 minuets of going nowhere with explaining my point of veiw i decided my only option at this point was to walk out and get a new doctor's note. The next day they called me and told me that i was no longer needed and i hate 48 hours to turn in my badge and uniform. I tried contacting lawyer after lawyer but they all said similar things. "We cannot sue a native casino." So being native makes it ok to diminish ones osha rights? It took them 2 months to send me a small 65 dollar settlement and promised a larger sump but never got around to sending it. Am i being double screwed here?

Our department's photo This is has somehow become "a thing." If you don't have Facebook but want to see our department photo, here you go. Backstory: It started with the friendly Halloween department costume photo contest that our company does every year. Each department dresses up and posts a picture to our internal group page, employees vote and the top three go to our public page to determine a winner. Employees are encouraged to share the photo and promote the page to get Facebook "likes," and the department with the most votes on their photo gets a pizza party. It's all in good fun, and not like it's a cash prize or anything, but when everyone is sharing their photo to Facebook the department with the most people in it ends up winning every year. Our IT department photo won the employee vote by almost double, but after the top photos went public, we were losing about 350 to 250 on Wednesday afternoon (it doesn't help that it was supposed to be a photo contest, but the public post asks people to vote for the best "costume" -- a nuanced difference but, well, we put a lot more work into our photo than the costumes themselves). I decided to try and even the odds, and made a post here asking for help which resulted in a decent bump and Wednesday night we were ahead, 1500 to 500 or so. Thursday, people accused us of cheating and "hacking Facebook" and making fake accounts to vote. Mostly joking and good-natured fun, nothing hostile. We're just coworkers competing for pizza, after all. Thursday afternoon (right after lunch, sadly) a pizza was delivered to our office with "HACK" and "CHEAT" written in pepperoni, which we took to be a joking accusation, but perhaps it was a bit of foreshadowing... Thursday night at 20:00, we were ahead about 1800 to 700. Thursday night at 22:00, we were suddenly tied at 1900. Friday morning at 09:00, we are losing about 4000 to 2200. Nearly all of the 3000+ mystery votes appear to have come from either Brazil or Indonesia, many with accounts that are only hours or days old. I don't want to throw around accusations lightly, but that's at the very least a good deal more suspicious than me reaching out to an online group of professional colleagues. Call to action: It's not over! Voting ends at noon (eastern) today (Friday, November 2), or about three hours from the time of this post. At this point it's not even so much about the pizza as pride and some semblance of justice. If you have a Facebook account (and haven't done so already), I'm asking one last time for people to go vote for our photo with a "like" on Facebook. Beyond that, if you have an extra moment just to show those cheating cheaters that you are in fact a real person, leave a little comment on the photo to mention something you like about the photo! That'll show them. Or maybe it won't, and maybe we won't be able to keep up with a paid Brazilian Facebook "like" farm (how is that a real thing?), but I believe in you, redditors! Summary version: Our company has a Halloween photo contest decided by Facebook likes, that is perennially won by the department with the most people in it, because numbers. This year, I reached out to reddit for help and got a nice bump of 1500 votes, which brought forth accusations of cheating (it's not). Then the other department seems to have turned to actual cheating and have gotten over 3000 votes in a few hours from days-old accounts in Brazil and Indonesia. I'm asking reddit to step it up and show that the little guys can win in the face of extreme odds -- and outright shameless cheating. Update: As of the end of the contest, our photo had 2200 likes and the other one was around 6600. Friday night they had climbed to about 10k and stopped (at exactly 10128, for about four hours), then another 12k that night, to about 18k as of this update on Monday morning. Their vote total seems to be growing in spurts of exactly 2000 likes within the course of a few minutes. As to what's happening with the actual contest, I have no idea. We are going to get pizza regardless, and the hotel said that if they won the contest they would buy us lunch (Chinese food, apparently, per request of our IT director). The marketing department handles the public contest, and the rumor I last hear was that someone from marketing was helping the hotel with their illicit voting ring (which makes more sense than anyone there knowing how to do it). To the various department heads, it has pretty much become a joke, so what happens next is anyone's guess. I guess there are a few things that could happen: The actual voting on the public contest gets ignored, and they revert to the voting results of the internal photo contest, in which case IT would win. They go by the vote counts, hotel is declared the winner, we get pizza anyway as well as Chinese food. No bragging rights, but satisfaction of knowing we did a good job. They attempt to figure out legitimate votes, maybe restrict to only votes places in the US and Canada or something, but that seems like he least likely scenario because Facebook doesn't have the tools for anything like that. If they did, though, I have to assume we would win. They disqualify the hotel photo for cheating. Seems unlikely especially if marketing helped them cheat. They disqualify both IT and hotel for cheating. Also very unlikely, if for no other reason than a photo of five security guys in their normal clothes posing with a paid performer shouldn't win anything, ever. Most likely scenario, in my estimation, though, is that the whole contest is ignored. Marketing never declares a winner. Hotel and IT both get pizza, paid for by whomever, and hotel still claims victory buys us Chinese. In the end, it's a bit hollow, but we know we won, and they had to resort to openly and brazenly cheating. Characters David Freeman A hard boiled freelance detective for the Federal Bureau of Cyberneurics. David recalls Rustin Cohle, Joe Miller, Jimmy McNulty, Sherlock Holmes with a shot of Christian Bale on the rocks. David is a caucasian male in his late forties, approximately six feet two inches. Some long line of introspective European, maybe German or Jewish. He is medium built with coiled muscles and razer reflexes from prior military training and cardiovascular exercise.
